Aquarium
Library Lounge
ONE57, NYC
On a high floor overlooking the city, a long reef aquarium runs beneath floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in this library lounge.
The tank forms a continuous glowing band across the room, pulling together a space built for entertaining, with lounge seating, a sculptural pool table and sweeping views. Reef fish and corals add color and movement along its full length, while the shelving above frames it like part of the architecture.
The effect is a room that feels both social and serene, with the reef as the thread that runs through it.
The installation at One57 is a freshwater aquarium more than 20 feet long, aquascaped by Okeanos.
