Aquarium
Private Residence
Saddle River, NJ
In this home, the reef isn’t just “an aquarium” — it’s a playful, glowing art moment tucked into an eclectic, design-forward space.
Set at the end of a crisp marble corridor, the tank reads like a living gallery piece: framed in dramatic, book-matched dark stone that feels bold and intentional, almost like a sculptural backdrop in a museum. The blue glow pulls you in from across the hall, and once you’re close, the reefscape reveals itself—stacked, textured live rock arranged like a miniature underwater canyon, with pockets and swim-throughs that give the tank depth and mystery.
What makes this install special is the contrast: clean architectural lines, polished finishes, and then this vibrant “portal” into another world. Fish move like brushstrokes across the scene, adding motion and personality—turning a transitional hallway into a destination. It’s luxury, but with character: a little theatrical, a little unexpected, and completely at home in a space that celebrates art, humor, and design that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
