Skylight Water Feature
Brant Foundation, Basquiat X Warhol
At The Brant Foundation building in the city, this skylight water feature transforms the ceiling into a living, luminous artwork. Set within warm wood paneling, the recessed glass opening becomes a quiet “pool of light,” where moving water above the skylight casts shimmering reflections and rippling patterns across the space below. The effect is subtle but immersive—like sunlight dancing on the ocean—creating a calm, meditative atmosphere as you enter the galleries.
In a setting featuring iconic works by Basquiat and Warhol, the installation acts as a complementary counterpoint: a minimalist, architectural gesture that brings nature, motion, and time into the experience. It softens the room with a sense of serenity and wonder, turning a simple skylight into a dynamic, ever-changing canvas of light and water.
