Maintenance Program

Expert Aquarium
Maintenance Services

The most beautiful aquarium in the world looks ordinary within weeks without expert care. Water chemistry drifts, glass clouds, filters clog, livestock decline. The system you invested in deserves the same level of ongoing attention that went into designing and building it.

Okeanos Group provides professional aquarium maintenance for residential and commercial clients across New York City, New Jersey, and surrounding areas. Our team of six expert technicians — each with years of hands-on experience across freshwater, saltwater, and reef systems — services installations we built and installations we didn't. If it holds water, we can maintain it.

What Our Maintenance Includes

Every service visit — regardless of plan — covers the full spectrum of aquarium care. We do not cut corners on a bi-weekly visit that we would not cut on a weekly one.

Water Chemistry Management

Precise testing and correction of pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, salinity, and temperature. We use professional-grade testing equipment and treat only what needs treating — no guesswork, no over-dosing.

Equipment Inspection & Service

Every visit includes a full check of pumps, heaters, chillers, protein skimmers, UV sterilizers, and lighting systems. Wear parts are replaced proactively before they fail — not after. We keep a complete service log for each system.

Livestock Health Assessment

Our technicians are trained to identify early signs of disease, parasites, nutritional deficiency, and behavioral stress. Catching problems in their earliest stages is the difference between a 10-minute intervention and losing a fish.

Glass & Surface Cleaning

Interior glass cleaned with magnetic or manual scrapers designed for your glass thickness. Exterior polished. Substrate and rockwork spot-cleaned. Algae managed before it becomes unsightly — not after.

Partial Water Changes

Scheduled water changes remove accumulated waste products and replenish trace elements. We mix and temperature-match replacement water on-site for saltwater systems. Volume and frequency are calibrated to your bioload.

Filter & Filtration Maintenance

Filter socks rinsed or replaced. Mechanical media cleaned. Biological media handled with care to preserve your beneficial bacterial colony. Protein skimmer cups emptied and necks cleaned.

Service Plans

Choose the frequency that matches your system's demands. Not sure? Contact us — we'll recommend the right plan based on your tank type, size, and bioload.

Our Team of Six Expert Technicians

Every Okeanos maintenance technician is a specialist, not a generalist. Our six-person service team collectively holds expertise across marine biology, aquatic husbandry, reef chemistry, equipment engineering, and aquascaping. They are not learning on your system — they arrive with the knowledge to diagnose, correct, and improve.

Each technician is assigned to a consistent route, which means they get to know your specific system — its quirks, its history, its livestock — over months and years. This continuity makes the difference between reactive maintenance and genuinely proactive care.
