Okeanos Group has been designing and building custom aquariums, indoor koi ponds, and water features for private residences since 2002. What We Build

Built-In Aquariums

The most architecturally integrated option — recessed into a wall, flush with your cabinetry, or spanning an entire wall face. Built-in installations can be viewed from one side or both, making them ideal as room dividers between living and dining spaces. The tank disappears into the architecture. What remains is the water.

Freestanding Feature Tanks

Floor-to-ceiling columns, cylindrical panoramic tanks, and sculptural freestanding forms that anchor a room as a pure design object. These installations work particularly well in double-height entries, great rooms, and spaces where the aquarium is meant to command the space rather than blend with it.

Indoor Koi Ponds

A Japanese design tradition reimagined for the contemporary luxury home. Indoor koi ponds bring a quality of stillness and natural beauty that no aquarium can replicate — the movement of large fish at the surface, the sound of gentle water, the play of light across a stone or mosaic basin.

Water Features and Waterfalls

Custom water walls, indoor waterfalls, and integrated water features for rooms, courtyards, and outdoor spaces. These installations prioritize sound and atmosphere as much as visual impact.

Jellyfish and Specialty Tanks

Among the most dramatic installations we build — a purpose-engineered jellyfish system requires specific water flow dynamics that keep these creatures suspended and undamaged. The result is unlike anything else in residential design.

The Okeanos Approach

Every project begins with a conversation about how you live, what you love, and what you want to feel when you walk past it every morning. From there, our design team produces 3D renderings, material specifications, and aquascape compositions for your review before a single component is fabricated.

We coordinate directly with your architect, interior designer, and general contractor — providing the structural data, MEP requirements, and shop drawings their teams need. We handle everything from rough-in coordination through final livestock selection and commissioning.

After installation, our maintenance program ensures your aquarium always looks exactly as it did the day we handed it over — bi-weekly or monthly visits from our service team, with remote monitoring for any issues between visits.

We are based in New York City and have delivered projects across the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Dubai, Nigeria, and beyond. Distance is not an obstacle — we have coordinated international shipments and worked alongside local contractors on every continent.
